⚠️ Critical Mountain Safety Tips

  • Stay Put: If you are lost or injured, stay exactly where you are. Moving makes it harder for rescue teams to find you.
  • Conserve Battery: Turn off cellular data if there is no signal, lower your screen brightness, and keep your phone warm against your body.
  • Signal in Threes: In the wilderness, three of anything (three whistle blows, three flashlight flashes) is the universal distress signal.
  • Altitude Sickness (AMS): If you experience severe headache, dizziness, or nausea, descend immediately. Do not sleep at a higher altitude than where symptoms started.
